  • In cases of skeletal or dental disharmonies that exceed the limits of tooth movement, there is a possible solution that involves working with our local Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons to move the upper and/or lower jaws around to fit together ideally. Typically, our patients will start with conventional braces for 8-12 months as an orthodontic preparation for the surgery. Once the teeth are aligned better, the jaw surgery can occur and the teeth can fit together as the jaws are repositioned. After a period ranging from 3 days to 6 weeks, the patient is released from the surgical splint and orthodontic detailing is done over the next 4-6 months. Patients who have this done are amazed with their facial profile improvement, bite alignment, and overall appearance!
